Over 2,000 years ago Christ sat by Jacob’s well with a Samaritan woman and asked her for a drink of water. At the time she, and later His own disciples, were surprised that He would speak with her. She was a Samaritan, a woman, and an outcast - all traits that would have disqualified her, by society’s standards, from the privilege of having a conversation with Him. But Christ went there seeking her out to acknowledge her, to see her as she was with kindness and without judgement, and to offer her living water.
Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. John 4:14
He knew that her life would be transformed with this encounter and that she would rush from Him to carry this message to others, to bring them back to Him, and allow them also to hear His message of healing, restoration, and eternal life.

Each Sunday at Water and Wilderness, we are:
Welcomed to step away from the traffic, chaos, and noise of the city, to gather beside the river in the stillness of the forest to hear this message, this invitation, to a life of hope.
Reminded each week that God has sought us out, and seeks us out continually, to know us, to draw close to us, and to love us.
Invited to “bring your mess, your voice, and your whole self” and we are met with the extraordinary gift of being seen, being acknowledged, and being loved.
The power of stepping into an authentic and affirming community which seeks to know God, draw close to Him and love Him right out in the wild world with all our mess and humanity, cannot help but induce joy, connection, and a desire to share this radical gift with others, so that they can experience it too.
